Texray develops a patented radiation protection textile addressing the need for comfortable personal protection equipment (PPE). For Medical professionals currently using various radiation protection garments during X-ray-guided surgical interventions, Texray has designed HeadPeace, a head cap and a MindPeace, a thyroid collar that combined reduces radiation exposure by extended 74%, compared to when using the traditional designs available on the market.

“I believe these novel shields are a great innovation for extended protection and optimized comfort. I find it personally very important to minimize my radiation exposure during endovascular procedures, for my own safety and health” says Dr. Andrej Schmidt, University Hospital Leipzig, Germany

Sahlgrenska university hospital and Texray has performed a scientific study to measure the effect of the novel Texray products. The results were accepted for presentation at the medical congress LINC (Leipzig interventional course) in Germany 2020. Results of the study showed that Texray products reduce radiation exposure in the lower, middle and upper sections of the head1confirming extended protection capacities.

”I believe these novel shields are great for increased protection and comfort.”
Prof Ulrich Schäfer, Marien Krankenhaus, Hamburg Germany

Texray products are widely used by medical professionals worldwide, and there is an increasing awareness of the long-term negative effects of poorly developed radiation protectors. A previous study performed by an ergonomic researcher at the Centre for Health Technology Halland at Halmstad University, Sweden, verified that >90% of the users perceive existing protective garments as hot, heavy and uncomfortable.

Texray innovative protectors, are highly appreciated. I will continue doing advanced image-guided surgical procedures for many years, so radiation is definitely a relevant issue for me and my colleagues”, says Prof. Jan Schmitto, Hannover Medical University, Germany

Due to the inherent structure of Texray, it is possible to meet the customer needs for more comfortable radiation protection garments, improving the ergonomic parameters such as anthropometrics, biomechanics, water vapor transport, and thermal sensation, as compared to competitive products.
