Press release | Texray AB Gothenburg, Sweden | August 12th, 2021 The Board of Texray has appointed Petra Apell, one of the founders of Texray, as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Mrs. Petra Apell has contributed to remarkable growth for Texray since its foundation in 2012 through her broad experience and network within the medical technology industry. As CEO, Apell will continue to drive the team to reach set targets towards global commercialization. Before Apells' engagements at Texray, she has a successful track record from start-ups and global corporates such as Orzone, Mentice, XVIVO Perfusion, and Johnson & Johnson. Petra Apell holds a Master of Science in Chemistry from the University of Gothenburg.

To strengthen the position as a frontrunner of the technical development of Smart Textiles, the founder and former CEO, Mr. Fredrik Gellerstedt, will take on a new role as Chief Technology Officer. Gellerstedt will accelerate product development and explore new potential material applications based on the core technology platform. Fredrik Gellerstedt holds a Technology Licentiate degree from Chalmers University of Technology.
